The Duolingo English Test (DET) is an internet-based test of English Proficiency wherein candidates writing, speaking, reading, and listening skills are evaluated. The test questions will be adapted by the computer from the performance of the candidate. The DET exam takes one hour in total and consists of two sections.
- Part A – A 45-minute adaptive test composed of questions that are designed to assess a candidate’s English abilities.
- Part B – Writing & Speaking test of 10 minutes with questions that are not suggested but are set, open-ended, and are issued to the institutions along with the performance of the candidate.
The first 5 minutes are questions that introduce the test and inform the candidates about the rules and regulations of the test.
