The PTE Listening section comprises questions that will appear on audio or video clips and the media is played only once. Candidates are allowed to take notes during the PTE listening test. It contains 8 varied tasks which will be approximately 15-20 questions and it should be completed in 45 to 57 minutes.
- Task 1 – Listen to a recording and come up with a 50-70-word summary of it.
- Task 2 – Answer a question by selecting more than one response.
- Task 3 – Listen to a recording, select the paragraph that briefly explains the recording
- Task 4 – Highlight the accurate summary
- Task 5 – Listen to a recording, and answer a multiple-choice question on the given text of the recording by selecting one response
- Task 6 – Choose the missing text from a given options
- Task 7- Identify the words that don’t match the given option
- Task 8 – Type the text by listening to what is said on the recording
